Chronology of cameras Ihagee

The Ihagee Parvola has a particular double helical telescopic lens barrel, and was available for different frame formats and shutter/lens combinations. The Parvola A (1450) is a camera using 127 film to produce 16 frames of 3x4 cm. This particular variant is the top model produced at a later stage of the Parvola production (c. 1939), equipped with a Compur Rapid 400 shutter with delayed release capability. The lens is a fast Schneider 5 cm with maximum aperture of 1:2, focusing from 0.5 m to infinity.

The camera has unusual strap holders on the sides of the foldable viewfinder. Film advance is made by a lever, which was optional on other Parvola models but apparently standard on this model. Two red windows with a sliding cover at the back position the frames. As in all other Parvolas, a peculiar scimitar-shaped piece attached to the shutter allows for the camera to hold vertically and make self-portraits.
